SUPPORTING BUT NOT BEING SUPPORTED

I have seen many faces of this nation in my 22 years. I have seen Sadness when the towers were hit, Unity to go to war, Hopefulness with a new president, And Anger at our Soldiers. I have been confused every since this war has begun. The Majority of America was ready and willing for war but now are against it. Did they not learn from the past wars what happens.I was ready for war, I was ready to serve my country and make my family proud. I was not ready for what a devastation's I encountered. I was not ready for a Country that was so united to be united against The Soldiers. Where did we make a U-Turn? I see families falling apart, People dieing, Children not knowing their fathers. Have our values disappeared? I support our troops no matter what they are called to do. They have no choice. It makes me sad to see so many sites against our soldiers, so many people bashing our soldiers. What makes me furious is to hear negative comments from people who don't even know a soldier. Who don't know what they go through on a daily basis. I want to inform the people of America who are so against everything the military people do, about the hardships they encounter. PTSD(Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) many have heard of it but few know what it is. Its something that soldiers have that make them hallucinate....FALSE. It is a disease but a disease that is not so easy to get over. Its when a soldier has a flashback due to a trigger. These triggers are various and can change with time. They can no longer function in a day to day society. So what do they do they Drink or take the prescribed medications that make them like zombies...they cant function on these medications. Almost 40% of all war veterans will commit suicide, another 75% will try, and almost all war vets have at one time thought of it. So the more we fail to support our troops, the more we will lose them. I challenge every American to get to know a soldier before they make false accusations. Get to know what they go through, where they come from, where they have been, and what they want to do in life. Go and save a life...that is all the soldiers need is just someone to talk to them, not to feel sorry for them.

  1. Great post Brandy! Those statistics are alarming, and I agree, we need to support our troops and their families that sacrifice so much for our freedoms. I think we've had it too good in this country for too long, most Americans these days cannot appreciate true sacrifice and dedication to this country. Keep up the good words, and I pray that Christ will bring you encouragement and hope!
